Pippa Adamson
I
enjoy working with individuals and organisations to maximise their
effectiveness in providing quality services. I have worked in various
ways with the not-for-profit sector; as a committee member, senior
manager, volunteer and instigator of projects. I use mentoring,
facilitation and Action Learning to help people get the best from
themselves in their work.

I
have been a community worker, facilitator and trainer for many years.
I have worked consistently with groups and individuals who are on
the margins of our society through class, poverty and gender and
this is important to me

I
have a proven track record in facilitation, training and development
with fifteen years' experience. I am a natural and confident communicator
who relishes interactions with people from all walks of life and
enjoys making positive connections with organisations. I have strong
experience in the management of volunteers and other unpaid workers,
devising and delivering training programmes for both volunteers
and paid staff. I have worked as volunteer, staff member and consultant;
in voluntary organisations ranging from small to large, and in the
private sector. My belief is that the interpersonal skills developed
for managing volunteers are exactly the skills required to strengthen
all working relationships, including interactions with 'customers'.
And I have a particular commitment to, and experience in, promoting
equal opportunities and conflict resolution.

I
have been working in community development and regeneration projects
for 30 years, as field worker, trainer, researcher and project director.
Much of the work has been resident-led, including the development
of award - winning management co-operatives. Of late, I have concentrated
on issues of social partnership and local democracy in countries
of the former Soviet Union.

My
work is based on a belief that people and organisations have the
potential to find fulfilment and success in whatever way they define
it. I am passionate about making the most of human potential. I
help people in organisations improve the ways in which they communicate
with each other. I run workshops in which people learn and improve
the skills of listening, asking and telling. And I help people deal
with conflict and work problems creatively. I like my work to be
fun for me and for the people I work with. I aim to make my work
joyful and stimulating through my openness and humour.
