Community and Regeneration
|
|
Red Kite has extensive experience
of working alongside communities and resource holders, as community
development practitioners, trainers and project managers. A particular
focus of our work has been within areas of extreme deprivation and/or
with communities and groups who usually do not find a voice in participation
strategies. Our training module Making Social
Inclusion Work is a central action-learning component of this
work.
Our
belief is that we need to work with both communities and resource
holders if an honest and sustainable social partnership is to be
forged. There is little point in developing the capacities of community
leaders if the 'doors' to dialogue remain closed. Equally, working
with communities, often disillusioned and angry, requires a range
of skills. Red Kite can offer experience and skills for working
at both ends.
Of late, our work has developed internationally, with consortium
work in Ukraine, Russia and the Kyrgyz Republic. We are currently
working in Russia with leading UK regeneration agency 'INclude',
piloting strategies on decentralisation and neighbourhood management.
